Equality Impact Assessments

Equality Impact Assessments (EqIAs) are a systematic way of gathering information and analysing the potential or actual effects of a policy on disability, ethnic minority, gender, faith, age, transgender and maternity groups. They provide an opportunity to explore potential impact in advance of implementation, and to make suitable modifications to eliminate or reduce negative impact or create or increase positive impact, or to clarify the justification for not so doing.
